Sup go-getters,
Let's get right into it and talk about something that's been on my mind lately: People trying to throw their insecurities onto you. It's like they see you shining bright and they can't handle it, so they try to dim your light to make themselves feel better. But here's the thing, their little candle fire ain’t got shit on your blazing inferno, so first and foremost, fuck ‘em.
Their bullshit got nothing on your fire, your passion, and your unstoppable drive to accomplish what it is you want to do. Embrace your authenticity, own your story, and let your light shine so fucking bright that it blinds those fuckers. At the end of the day, the only person who can stop you from achieving greatness is you.
Secondly, these same insecure people will be the first to come at you saying you copied them, or they were going to do what you did, and just generally talk shit in a pathetic attempt to dim your light, yet again. That’s what they do. They are so miserable and have such an immense lack of their own ideas that they will take a bite off your cake to see how sweet it is. What do I mean by this? Just because someone else shares the same interests or aspirations as you doesn't mean they own that shit. There's no "MY thing" or "YOUR thing"—there's just the fucking thing. So if you wanna do something, do it. And do it to the best of your damn ability.
Someone who has already accomplished what you are looking to set out and accomplish, will likely not throw shade at you.
A trainer won’t laugh at you for going to the gym
A millionaire wont laugh at you for starting a business
An author wont laugh at you for writing a book
A teacher won’t laugh at you for learning
And so on and so forth.
Ideas can't be stolen because they are not tangible. If we’re gonna play that card then we need to admit that everything you believe right now is stolen from somebody else. Everything you think you know? Fucking stolen. So why let someone else's insecurities hold you back from chasing your dreams and living your truth?
A study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology found that individuals who maintain a strong sense of authenticity and self-expression experience greater psychological well-being and life satisfaction. So don't let anyone dim your shine—embrace your authenticity and let your light shine bright. (Source: https://www.apa.org/pubs/journals/psp/)
It's time to stop giving a fuck about what other people think and start owning your shit like you mean it. Simple as that, claim it, own it. It’s all there for the taking. Whether you're pursuing a passion, starting a business, or just living your life and some dip-fuck attempts to make you feel bad about it, do it unapologetically and at that point, with a smile on your face to really ruffle their feathers. Worth it 10 out of 10 times.
Anyway, as always, here are three actionable steps to help you rise above the noise and stay true to yourself:
Own Your Narrative: Take control of your story and refuse to let anyone else dictate who you are or what you're capable of. Embrace your unique perspective, experiences, and passions, and let them guide you on your journey. Collect things as you go, you will find inspiration and pick things up in the most random places. Keep an eye out and an open mind.
Surround Yourself with Supportive Peeps: Surround yourself with people who uplift and inspire you, rather than bringing you down with their insecurities. Build a tribe of like-minded individuals who celebrate your successes as you do theirs and encourage you to be your best self.
Practice Self-Reflection and Self-Awareness: Take time to reflect on your values, beliefs, and goals, and ensure that your actions align with your authentic self. Stay true to your core principles and don't compromise your integrity for anyone or anything because fuck that noise.
So the next time someone tries to throw their bullshit insecurities onto you, just smile, nod, and keep doing you, regardless of what anyone does or says. It’s almost difficult to not feel bad for those miserable sacks of shit, but hey, such is life. At the end of the day, their bullshit can’t step to your authenticity. It’s contagious and more people love it than not, I promise you that. Keep going.
Stay true to yourself, and keep kicking ass. Bazinga.
